Protector starts following chair shoot

  1. Two shooter teams chosen at random.
  2. Shooters line up at the 27 yard line.
  3. First shooter on each team calls for the bird, if he/she missed, their partner shoots at it.
  4. After each team calls for 1 bird, we start at the beginning of line with second shooter calling for the bird from each team.
  5. Once every team has shot at two birds, teams rotate down, like a regular round of trap.
  6. We repeat the above steps 3, 4, and 5, until each team has shot at 10 birds.
  7. High score wins the purse.  Any ties, teams can decide to split or move back for a sudden death shoot off.

SKEET

6:30 Hunter's Skeet

Hunting season is fast approaching!  Get ready by trying Urbandale Hunter's Skeet!  Skeet was invented by bird hunters in the 1920's looking for a way to practice their bird hunting over pointing dogs.  Originally, shooter's guns had to be in a "low" ready position (stock below the armpit)like a hunter would do as he approached a dog on point.  Also, there was a random delay of 0-3 seconds between the call for the bird and the target release, to simulate the random flush of the bird while hunting.

                                               Rules and Scoring

1. The top of the stock must be visible below the armpit until the target is released.  First offense of raising the stock before release will result in a warning and "no bird" do over.  Subsequent offenses will result in a lost bird.  If the shooter raises his stock before release but during the delay period, but is able to return to the low position prior to actual release, the target will be scored pursuant to the shot result.

2. If you forget to take your safety off it's a lost bird.

3. Ties will result in a shoot off.

4. Each round is shot as a round of 25 in regular skeet format except for the delay and low gun.

5. MAX squad of 5

                                              Handicap Scoring

Hunters commonly use their trusty pumps, SxS and small gauges, as well as purpose built target guns.  So...bring your hunting gun and receive bonus targets!

1. Anyone using any pump or SxS of any guage will receive a maximum one extra target added to their score.

2. Anyone using any 20 or 28 guage will receive a maximum one extra target added.

3. Anyone using any .410 will receive a maximum two extra targets added.

Buy in $8 ($4 to house for birds, $4 to purse)

Protector Skeet will start following the completion of hunters skeet

This game will be conducted the same as Protector trap, with the five stations being spaced between stations Three and Five on the skeet field, but a few yards further distance than the standard stations.

Partners drawn at random.

Ties will result in a shoot off.
